Sağlık ve Eğitim Vakfının eğitimde sürdürülebilirliği sağlama ve eğitimi daim kılma hedefiyle kurduğu SEV İlköğretim Kurumları, 25.yılını kutluyor. Çeyrek yüzyıl önce eğitim hayatına merhaba diyen Üsküdar SEV, İzmir SEV ve Tarsus SEV, beslendikleri köklü eğitim geleneğinden gelen güçle Türkiye’nin önde gelen ilköğretim kurumları arasına girdi.

SEV İlköğretim Kurumlarının 25 yıllık serüvenini değerlendiren SEV Genel Müdürü Prof. Dr. Güray Erkol, “25 yıl önce, önemli bir değişim döneminin başında kurulan SEV İlköğretim Kurumları, Türkiye’nin en kaliteli okulları arasında ilk sıralarda yerini almayı başardı. 25 yıl içinde Vakfın kurumsallaşması ile ilköğretim kurumlarının güçlü birer eğitim kurumu olarak inşası, iç içe geçerek birbirini besledi, geliştirdi ve büyüttü. SEV, 2014 yılında SEV Amerikan Kolejini (SAC) de başarıyla kurup anaokulundan lise son sınıfa kadar K-12 seviyesinde Türkiye’nin en iyi eğitim kurumlarını oluşturdu” dedi.

SEV İlköğretim Kurumlarında sürdürülebilirlik her zaman ön planda yer alıyor. Temel eğitimde sürdürülebilirlik yaklaşımını benimseyen SEV İlköğretim Kurumları, alt stratejisinde sürdürülebilirliği ekoloji, sanat, kültür, ekonomi ve yapay zekâ olarak 5 kategoride ele alıyor. Okullarda ekolojik okuryazarlık temel eğitimleri veriliyor, dikey ve yatay tarım uygulamaları, ekosfer incelemeleri yapılıyor, çeşitli projelerle öğrencilere ekolojik bilinç kazandırılıyor. Öğrenciler; geçmişten günümüze sanat tarihini, kamusal alanlarda eserlerini sergileyen önemli sanatçıları, illüstratörleri ve multimedya aktivistlerini tanıyor, onlarla empati kurarak yarattıkları evrensel değerleri deneyimliyor. UNESCO Kültür Varlıklarını Koruma Programı kapsamında arkeoloji, tarih, sosyoloji, sanat, dil ve antropoloji gibi pek çok alanda projeler üretiyor. Çocuklar, analitik düşünme becerilerini geliştirecek öğrenme ortamlarında kaynak analizleri, ihtiyaç araştırmaları, finansal okuryazarlık, girişimcilik ve STEM alanlarında projeler yapıyor. SEV İlköğretim Kurumlarında ulusal ve uluslararası iş birliklerine dâhil olan, pek çok farklı alanda yapay zekâ çalışmaları yürüten öğrenciler, dijital çağı yorumlayabilen, geleceğe hazır bireyler olarak yetişiyor.

Sahip olduğu imkanları yarınları inşa edecek öğrencilerine aktarmak ve eğitim kalitesini sürdürülebilir kılmak için çalışmalar yapan SEV İlköğretim Kurumları, 25. yılında eğitimde sürdürülebilirliği çok katmanlı olarak odağına alarak, uzun vadeli hedefler tanımlıyor. SEV’in Eğitim Geliştirme Departmanı tarafından okullarda yürütülen öncü çalışmalar, kurumların bu hedeflere ulaşmasına ve nitelikli eğitimin sürdürülebilir olmasına katkı sağlıyor.

SEV Schools Take On “Sustainability” As Their Focus in their 25th Year

SEV Elementary School Graduates are Prepared to be Part of a Sustainable Future
Sustainability has always been an emphasis at SEV Schools. With its sustainability-based approach in elementary education, SEV Schools address the concept under five categories: ecology, arts, culture, economy and artificial intelligence. The foundations of ecological literacy are offered in schools through vertical and horizontal farming practices, exploration of the ecosphere, and other projects designed to raise student awareness in ecology. Students get to know more about art history from past to present, important artists, illustrators and multimedia activists who have exhibited their works in public spaces and relate to the universal values they have created through their body of work. They create projects in diverse disciplines including archeology, history, sociology, art, language, and anthropology as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Program. Students are also introduced to areas of resource analysis, needs research, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and STEM in their learning contexts, which help them improve their analytical thinking skills. Students who are involved in national and international collaborations and artificial intelligence explorations in many different fields at SEV Schools grow as individuals who have the skills to interpret the digital age and are well-equipped for the future.

Dedicated to transferring its resources to the students who will build the future and to sustain the educational quality, SEV Schools, in their 25th year, focus on sustainability in education in a multi-layered approach with the long-term goals it has identified. The work undertaken by the schools spearheaded by SEV’s Department of Educational Development, facilitate the achievement of these goals and make the quality education offered in its schools sustainable.
Under the general framework of “Sustainability and Agility”, SEV Schools will be hosting a series of activities throughout the year, focusing on the sub-categories of “ecological sustainability”, “sustainability in the arts”, “cultural sustainability”, “economic sustainability”, and “sustainability and artificial intelligence”.
